Duties
- Assist customers in selecting eyewear frames and lenses that suit their style, needs, and prescriptions, ensuring optimal fit and comfort through eyewear fittings and adjustments
- Dispense spectacle lenses accurately based on prescriptions, utilizing optical experience and knowledge
- Provide guidance on lens options, coatings, and frame materials
- Operate credit card systems and cash transactions efficiently and accurately, as well as recording the sale in the computer system
- Support retail management by maintaining inventory and updating the computer system with inventory and orders
Requirements
- Experience in retail sales, with optical sales preferred
- Computer experience required for competency in operating a computer system to place eyewear orders, view exam notes and prescriptions and order new inventory
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate medical information clearly and empathetically
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for retail transactions, insurance processing, and medical billing purposes
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail in eyewear dispensing and fittings
We will provide on the job training for a person new to our software and products that is committed to grow in this health/retail position. Pay is dependent on experience and personal growth in the position.
Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
