Job Overview
Believe You Can, LLC., (BYC) is seeking a Direct Support Professional who would be responsible for providing direct care/support and advocacy for adults diagnosed with intellectual and physical disabilities. This position ensures the participants assigned to them receive the highest quality of care and support through the person-centered planning (PCP) process. This includes assisting in the proactive steps to work towards achieving goals outlined in the (PCP). Interested candidates would need to be active and enjoy going out into the community, can assist the individuals with life skills to include but not limited to personal hygiene, housekeeping and meal preparation. This position may require providing direct care/support within the participants home or within the community. This is a Part-Time position between 10-20 hours a week. The days and hours vary based on the individual's scheduled services. This is a perfect opportunity for flexible part-time employment.
Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal care, community activities, and meal preparation.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals under your care
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in accordance with established protocols
- Maintain documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and social workers to address individual needs
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Valid Driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to drive and transport individuals as needed
- Proficiency in providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities
-Prefer 1 year experience working with people with intellectual and physical disabilities (may include volunteer or personal experience from having a family member with a disability
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Able to perform duties with autonomy.
- Clean criminal record
- Completion of CPR, First Aid, and other trainings mandated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration and BYC.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
