Part-time PMHNP-BC, California telehealth
Feel August is a California telehealth psychiatric practice, founded and led by
Arthur Roehr, DNP, PMHNP-BC. We see adults across the full spectrum of outpatient
psychiatry, anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, with the time and
clinical latitude to do the work properly.
This part-time role is built for experienced PMHNPs who want meaningful psychiatric
practice alongside what they already do, without giving up continuity with their
patients. You hold your own panel and see the same patients over time, on a telehealth
platform built to stay out of your way, working within clear clinical protocols
alongside our clinical team.
What the role looks like
You set the recurring weekly hours you can genuinely protect, and we build the schedule
around them. Predictability matters to us more than constant availability — the hours
are yours to choose, and then yours to keep.
You conduct psychiatric evaluations and build treatment plans for the patients matched
to you, prescribe and manage psychiatric medication in line with California law and our
protocols, and care for those same patients through follow-ups on a clinically sound
cadence. Brief therapy alongside medication management is our standard, and most
follow-up visits include it. You document accurately and on time in our EHR, keep the
hours you commit to, and give notice for planned time off so a covering clinician can
step in.
Time off is expected and supported. For clinicians who want it, steady part-time work
can lead to a full-time salaried offer with our complete benefits package.
How pay works
You are paid a flat amount per completed, documented visit, set by visit type:
- Established follow-up with therapy: $106 (our standard visit)
- New patient evaluation with therapy: $135
- Low-complexity follow-up with therapy: $86
- Med-only follow-up: $66
- Low-complexity med-only follow-up: $45
Because this is a W-2 role, a California minimum wage true-up applies: your pay is
always the greater of your per-visit earnings or the hourly floor, for every hour you
work — documentation and admin included. If a light week would fall short, we make up
the difference.
Who fits
You hold an active, unrestricted California NP license, PMHNP board certification, a
California furnishing license with prescriptive authority, active DEA registration, and
CURES enrollment. You have real psychiatric telehealth experience and sound clinical
judgment, a private and professional space to see patients from, and reliable internet.
You reside in California. Existing Headway credentialing is a plus for a faster start,
though we can add you to our group.
The register of the practice matters. We talk to patients as adults engaged in serious
work, not as cases to be managed. If that resonates, the rest of the fit is
straightforward.
