Overview
We are seeking a Program Quality Engineer to support quality initiatives across program development and production within a fast-paced automotive environment. This role serves as the primary interface with customers for quality-related matters, ensuring effective communication, structured problem-solving, and timely resolution of issues. The position also plays a key role in APQP/PPAP processes and supplier quality management to ensure product and process excellence.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field

Minimum 4 years of Quality Engineering experience in automotive manufacturing environment

Experience with APQP, PPAP, customer quality, and supplier quality processes

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System

Familiarity with automotive core tools (FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA)

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 10–15 lbs
Responsibilities

Serve as the primary customer contact for all quality-related issues and communications

Lead containment, investigation, and resolution of quality issues using structured methodologies (8D, Red X)

Coordinate customer complaints, nonconformances, and corrective actions

Prepare and present quality reports and updates to customers

Support customer audits and ensure timely closure of action items
-
Support APQP processes for new product development and engineering changes
-
Translate customer requirements into quality deliverables and compliance plans

Lead or support DFMEA/PFMEA development and risk mitigation activities

Define validation strategies including DVP&R and process capability metrics

Prepare and submit PPAP documentation in accordance with requirements

Act as liaison with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards

Conduct supplier audits and drive corrective actions and improvements

Monitor supplier performance and lead quality improvement initiatives

Support ISO 9001 Quality Management System implementation and maintenance

Participate in internal and external audits and ensure proper documentation control

Analyze quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
-
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities
-
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve quality issues and improve processes
-
Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives
