Event DJ / MC – Monthly Community Events
Tip Top Tattoo
Port Richey, Florida
Part-Time / Event-Based
Pay: $300–$500 per event
Potential 4-Event Commitment: September–December 2026
Overview
Tip Top Tattoo is looking for an energetic, reliable DJ / MC for our upcoming community events beginning with our End of Summer Bash on Saturday, September 19th.
This is not a nightclub, wedding, or large concert-style production. We are hosting a family-friendly community event at our commercial property in Port Richey featuring music, food trucks, local vendors, games, giveaways, tattoo and piercing specials, a bounce house for kids, a fire performance, and other activities.
We are looking for someone who can provide the right amount of sound for a smaller outdoor event area, keep good music playing, interact with the crowd, and help us make announcements throughout the event.
A large sound system or complicated production setup is not necessary. A few appropriately sized speakers, DJ equipment, and a microphone for announcements should be more than enough.
September 19th – End of Summer Bash
Our first event will include:
- Tattoo specials
- Piercing specials
- Food trucks
- Local vendors
- Bounce house for kids
- Games and prizes
- Contests and giveaways
- Live fire performance
- Family activities
- Live DJ / music
- Community entertainment
The overall goal is to create a fun, energetic, family-friendly atmosphere where people can hang out, enjoy the activities, listen to music, and have a good time.
DJ / MC Responsibilities
The DJ will help provide the soundtrack and energy for the event while also working with Tip Top Tattoo staff to keep activities organized.
Responsibilities may include:
- Provide and operate your own DJ equipment.
- Provide appropriately sized speakers for the event area.
- Provide a microphone for announcements.
- Play a variety of clean, family-friendly music appropriate for a mixed-age crowd.
- Read the crowd and adjust music throughout the event.
- Make announcements regarding activities, specials, vendors, food trucks, contests, and upcoming events.
- Announce and help coordinate giveaways and prize drawings.
- Help introduce scheduled entertainment, including our fire performance.
- Communicate with event staff so music and announcements flow with the event schedule.
- Set up and test equipment before beginning.
- Troubleshoot basic sound or equipment issues if necessary.
- Maintain a professional and friendly attitude around customers, families, children, vendors, performers, and staff.
Hours
We are flexible with the DJ's start time.
The DJ does not necessarily need to provide music coverage for the entire event. Our biggest need will be during the later afternoon and evening, when many of the contests, giveaways, performances, and larger activities will be taking place.
We are willing to structure the hours around what makes sense for both the DJ and our budget.
A schedule around 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM may work, but we are open to shorter coverage if necessary.
Equipment
We are not looking for a massive sound or lighting package.
Because this is a smaller community event at our commercial property, we expect that a straightforward setup will be sufficient.
We are primarily looking for:
- DJ controller/setup
- A few appropriately sized speakers
- Microphone
- Basic cables and necessary equipment
- Music
Elaborate lighting, staging, concert speakers, or large-scale production equipment are not required.
Experience
Previous DJ experience at parties, community events, restaurants, bars, festivals, weddings, or other live events is preferred.
The ideal person should:
- Be comfortable DJing in front of a live crowd.
- Be comfortable speaking on a microphone.
- Have good communication and people skills.
- Know how to keep music appropriate for the audience.
- Be able to make clear and energetic announcements.
- Be dependable and arrive on time.
- Have their own equipment and transportation.
- Be able to work well with event organizers and other performers.
- Be comfortable working at a family-friendly event with both adults and children present.
You do not need a huge production company or elaborate setup to be considered.
Compensation
Our target budget is approximately:
$300–$500 per event
Final compensation will depend on:
- Hours of coverage
- Equipment provided
- Experience
- Setup requirements
- Whether we agree to a multi-event package
This Could Become a Regular Monthly Opportunity
We are not looking for a DJ for only one event.
Tip Top Tattoo is planning one themed community event each month for the next four months, and we will need DJ / MC coverage for each event.
Current schedule:
September – End of Summer Bash
October – Halloween Event
November – Themed Community Event
December – Christmas / Holiday Event
We would prefer to find one reliable DJ that we can continue working with for all four events.
Rather than hiring someone different every month, our goal is to build a relationship with someone who becomes familiar with our property, staff, customers, event schedule, and the way we run our community events.
Because of the potential four-event commitment, we are also open to discussing a package rate or ongoing monthly event rate.
If everything works well, there may also be opportunities for additional Tip Top Tattoo events in the future.
To Apply
When applying, please include:
- Your name or DJ/business name
- Your DJ experience
- What equipment you provide
- Your rate
- Your availability for September 19th
- Whether you would be interested in working all four monthly events
- Any photos, videos, social media pages, website, or examples of previous events
We're looking for someone who can bring good energy without overcomplicating the production.
If you're a local DJ looking for recurring event work and enjoy working with community events, families, vendors, performers, and local businesses, we'd like to hear from you.
