Full job description:
Duties
- Monitor and interpret patients' vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Document patients' medical histories, symptoms, and observations
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions and provide emotional support
- Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment used in telemetry monitoring
- Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions
Qualifications:
- valid Medicaid ID number
- Valid nursing license in the state of New York
- Proven experience as a Telemetry Nurse or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring equipment and interpretation of telemetry data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast
-paced environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation purposes
- Understanding of infection control protocols and ability to maintain a clean and safe patient environment
Skills:
- Case management: Ability to coordinate care across multiple healthcare providers and ensure continuity of care for patients.
- Family planning: Knowledge of contraceptive methods, reproductive health, and family planning services.
- Utilization review: Understanding of the process of evaluating the appropriateness, necessity, and efficiency of medical services.
- Medical office systems: Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, scheduling software, and other medical office technologies.
- Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to nursing practice and patient care.
- Infection control: Knowledge of infection prevention protocols to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
- Primary care: Understanding of primary care principles and ability to provide comprehensive care to patients across the lifespan.
- Dementia care: Experience or training in providing specialized care for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
