At Guild Hall Learning, we believe the best way to learn is by creating. Our students design robots, build engineering projects, develop video games, experiment with AI, use professional fabrication tools, and tackle real-world challenges.
We're looking for an energetic, creative, and dependable Part-Time STEM Studio Instructor to work with students in our year-round studios and help support workshops, programs, and special events.
This isn't a traditional teaching job. Our instructors are mentors who help young people become confident creators, engineers, programmers, designers, and problem-solvers.
What You'll Do
As a STEM Studio Instructor, you'll:
- Work with students during our afternoon and evening studio programs.
- Lead and support hands-on STEM, engineering, coding, robotics, game development, and maker projects.
- Help students use tools, technology, equipment, and materials safely and independently.
- Guide students through designing, building, testing, troubleshooting, and improving their projects.
- Help students debug code, troubleshoot robots, and solve technical problems.
- Keep students engaged while maintaining a safe, organized, and positive studio environment.
- Encourage creativity, independence, teamwork, and confidence.
- Prepare and reset studio spaces, equipment, and materials.
- Assist with workshops, demonstrations, community programs, and special events.
- Travel between Guild Hall Learning locations as needed.
- Travel to off-site events, schools, community programs, festivals, and other locations where Guild Hall Learning is participating or providing programming.
- Work occasional Sundays when events or programs are booked.
The work changes from day to day. One afternoon you may be helping a student troubleshoot a robot; another you may be supporting a 3D-printing project, helping with game development, or representing Guild Hall Learning at an off-site STEM event.
The Reality
This is a hands-on, active job.
You'll answer lots of questions, troubleshoot projects that don't work the first time, help students stay focused, manage equipment and materials, and adapt quickly when plans change.
You'll also see students accomplish things they didn't think they could do—a robot finally working, a first game being completed, an engineering idea becoming a real object, or a student gaining the confidence to tackle a difficult project independently.

No teaching degree is required. Technical curiosity, reliability, energy, and the ability to connect with young people matter most.

Requirements
- Available Some week days approximately 4:00 PM–8:00 PM.
Available Saturdays, approximately 12:00 PM–5:00 PM.
- Flexibility to work some Sundays when events are booked.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able and willing to drive between different Guild Hall Learning locations and travel to off-site events and programs.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Ability to maintain a safe, professional, organized, and engaging learning environment.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
