Head Coach/Instructor (Volleyball)
Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate, reliable, and knowledgeable Head Volleyball Coach to join our team. The Head Coach should be equipped to run small and large group trainings, instruct/guide junior coaches, be highly organized, and be a self-starter. The ideal candidate has coached competitive and high level teams across various age groups. They have knowledge of advanced volleyball concepts and are passionate about teaching.
There is an opportunity to also take on private lessons which we put a strong emphasis on helping you book.
While we are open to collaborating with our coaches, candidates should also be open and willing to work within our club’s curriculum and philosophies to ensure consistency across all of our teams. All Head Coaches will undergo a training period to learn about our culture, expectations, standards, language, training environment, and more.
Note: Candidates should be able to work at both of our two facilities. The other location is located at 15853 Monte St, Sylmar, CA.

-has coached JV/Varsity level teams
-has great technical and communication skills
-can breakdown and teach basic fundamentals when needed
-is able to build a strong rapport with young players, parents, and fellow coaches
-is able to balance competition and pressure
-is a great leader and example
-takes initiative and is highly organized
Responsibilities
- Leading and managing a team - from players to parents to assistant coaches
- Creating and executing effective practice plans and drills
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for fellow coaches and athletes; embrace a growth mindset philosophy and the Thrive culture
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other staff members
- Maintain a positive attitude in all situations
- Assist with special events and other activities as needed
- Assist with any administrative tasks as needed (can be done remotely)
- Attend Staff Meetings or individual meetings as required by Directors
Expectations:
-During club season, up to 3 practices per week at 2 hours each
-Lead group training clinics
-Weekend availability is REQUIRED as all club tournaments are held on weekends
-Some travel is REQUIRED as there are 1-2 out of state tournaments (typically in March and June but dates are subject to change)
-Coach must be highly organized, attentive, responsive, professional, and proactive
-Coach should remain eager to continue to learn, grow, and develop
