Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Manually handle and organize dishes and cookware for efficient cleaning and storage
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including organizing supplies and prepping ingredients
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
- Follow strict sanitation standards to ensure all kitchen surfaces and equipment meet health and safety regulations
- Handle heavy lifting of bulky items such as large pots or crates of supplies safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean work environment by regularly sanitizing workstations, sinks, and dishwashing areas
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures
- Ability to operate commercial dishwashing machines and basic kitchen equipment safely
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items regularly
- Excellent attention to detail in cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Basic knife skills or familiarity with kitchen tools is a plus but not mandatory
