Job Overview
As a Cost Accountant, you'll manage accounting transactions, compile financial information, handle billing, and create accurate financial reports for the Wallingford, CT location.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile General Ledger accounts and support month-end closing
- Create daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports
- Manage fixed assets, track depreciation, and analyze profit/loss statements
- Record and reconcile balance sheet accounts and accruals
- Prepare product costing calculations
- Handle intercompany transactions and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and monitor capital expenditure requests (AFEs)
- Support audits, budgeting, and special financial projects
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with leadership on financial planning and business strategy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
- 5-8 years of manufacturing cost accounting experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC requirements
- Experience working with operational teams
- Adaptable to change with proven flexibility
- JD Edwards and Hyperion knowledge is a plus
