American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric OR RN with at least 2 years of general surgery experience and an active CA RN license for a fast-paced procedure center.

Work in a Pediatric Procedure Center OR treating inpatient and outpatient pediatric patients, with adults on rare occasions
-
Perform minor surgical cases across ENT, Plastics, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, Dentistry, and Oncology specialties

May be trained to assist with Endoscopy, GI, and Pulmonary cases if needed

Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours from 0600-1630
-
Call required: 5 weekday shifts and 2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Weekend coverage required
-
No floating required
-
1:1 patient ratio
-
Uses Cerner (SurgiNet) documentation system

Active California RN license required in hand at time of consideration; pending or temporary licenses not accepted

Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
-
Minimum 2 years of experience required, either acute or outpatient, covering the majority of listed specialties

Prior travel experience required

Cerner charting experience required
-
Experience with general surgery required

Trauma Level I experience preferred

Skilled in administration of blood/blood products, infection control, laser safety, specimen handling/labeling, peripheral IV starts, universal protocol time-out procedures, and urinary bladder catheterization

Two supervisor-level references required, dated within 1 year of start or from most recent employer

Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of pediatric surgical specialties in a fast-paced environment

Travelers are prioritized for float assignments per facility policy, though no floating is required for this role
-
Up to 16 hours of orientation modules may be required, self-reported and billable only during orientation shifts
-
Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
-
Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
-
Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before reapplying
-
First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
