Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to lead the production of premium baked goods, pastries, cakes, desserts, and specialty products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for production, quality control, kitchen operations, inventory management, food safety compliance, and team leadership.
The Pastry Chef will play a key role in helping grow the company into one of South Florida's premier pastry and catering brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all daily pastry and bakery production.
- Prepare and supervise the production of cakes, pastries, cookies, breads, croissants, desserts, and specialty items.
- Standardize recipes and production procedures.
- Maintain consistent quality, taste, appearance, and portion control.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships.
- Control food costs, waste, and production efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Train, supervise, and motivate bakery staff.
- Coordinate production schedules to meet catering and wholesale deadlines.
- Assist with custom orders, weddings, corporate events, and special projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with ownership on product strategy, pricing, and business growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional pastry or bakery experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of artisan baking, laminated doughs, cakes, desserts, and pastry production.
- Experience with commercial bakery equipment.
- Knowledge of food costing and inventory management.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Culinary or Pastry Arts degree preferred but not required.
