Salary: $121,807–$141,453
Bonus: 10% based on individual and company performance
About the Opportunity
Our client is an established property and casualty insurance carrier with a growing commercial business throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
They are seeking an experienced Commercial General Liability Claims Manager to lead and develop a Commercial Claims operation. This position oversees four Claims Supervisors and their teams and works closely with senior leadership and business partners to strengthen claims operations, processes, and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop four Commercial Claims Supervisors and their teams.
- Provide strategic leadership for the Commercial Claims Unit.
- Develop workflows, training, and best practices for complex commercial claims.
- Provide guidance on coverage determinations and oversee claims and litigation across multiple jurisdictions.
- Conduct claim file reviews and provide performance feedback to supervisors.
- Monitor workload, capacity, operational performance, and emerging trends.
- Coordinate specialized experts and external vendors.
- Support Agent/Broker/Insured claim review meetings.
- Keep senior claims leadership informed of significant claims, challenges, and recurring trends.
- Present team results during quarterly management meetings.
- Participate in recruiting and interviewing as needed.
- Ensure compliance with procedures and applicable regulations.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of commercial claims supervisory experience required.
- College degree required.
- Several years of commercial claims experience with an insurance carrier.
- Strong commercial insurance policy knowledge and technical aptitude.
- Experience managing complex claims and litigation.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people-management skills.
- Excellent critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $121,807–$141,453, based on experience and credentials.
10% bonus opportunity based on individual and company performance.
