Position Summary:
The X Studio Access Assistant provides front-facing support that helps youth and community members access X Studio's space, tools, and resources. This role focuses on day-to-day access operations: welcoming visitors, orienting participants to the studio and its equipment, keeping materials and workspaces organized, and helping ensure the studio runs smoothly for the people using it. The Access Assistant works under the supervision of X Studio’s Youth Development Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome visitors, program participants, and youth accessing X Studio.
- Help orient new participants to the studio space, tools, and available resources.
- Assist with checking materials and equipment in and out, and keeping them organized and accessible.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming studio environment.
- Support day-to-day studio operations under staff supervision.
- Respond to basic visitor questions and direct more complex needs to X Studio staff.
- Comply with all operational policies, particularly those related to safety.

Functional Work Characteristics
- Requires sufficient skills to work in a business environment, including organizing, coordinating, exercising daily decision-making, analyzing, and interpreting.
- Requires effective eye-and-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Requires standing and walking approximately 25% of the time, with a regular need to perform physical actions that include sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling materials, pulling, carrying, and pushing.
- May occasionally require lifting various materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Conditions:
- Most essential duties are performed in a museum and offi ce environment with exposure to a variety of business equipment and other pertinent materials normally found in this type of work setting.
- Museum facilities may expose incumbent to high noise levels, temperature changes, liquid nitrogen, helium gas, electrical exposure, unpredictable ventilation, dust, and physical obstacles.
- Work is normally performed in an area of limited privacy.
