Are you someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while making a difference in residents’ daily lives? Our Darway Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our nutrition services team.
As a Dietary Aide, you will play an important role in providing residents with nourishing, attractive, and well-balanced meals while ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This position supports all food service functions under the direction of the Director of Food Service and must follow all facility policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations.

What You’ll Do
- Follow all food service procedures and facility standards
- Prepare food using proper food handling and safety techniques
- Maintain proper food temperatures during preparation and meal service
- Assist with meal service, beverages, snacks, and special dietary items in a timely manner
- Set up and prepare dining areas for meal service
- Assist with food preparation for special meals and facility events
- Label, date, and store food properly
- Maintain food storage areas in a clean and organized manner
- Clean and sanitize work areas, kitchen equipment, and food service areas
- Perform dishwashing and cleaning duties as assigned
- Deliver snacks and food carts safely and properly
- Follow all health, sanitation, and safety regulations
- Report complaints, hazardous conditions, malfunctioning equipment, or work-related injuries to a supervisor immediately
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information and protect resident rights
- Follow proper dress code requirements, including wearing hair nets and name badges
- Practice safe work habits at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous long-term care or institutional food service experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation, food handling, and kitchen sanitation practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide excellent customer service
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Frequent walking, bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting required
- Ability to move heavy items and lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely transport food carts and kitchen supplies
