The Reproductive Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is responsible for providing comprehensive reproductive health services, including preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, and counseling for individuals and families.
The APRN conducts physical exams, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, prescribes medications, and develops individualized care plans. The APRN also provides education on abortion, contraception, fertility, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), pregnancy, menopause, hormone therapy, and other reproductive health issues.
The APRN works collaboratively with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and plays a vital role in empowering patients to make informed decisions about their reproductive health and supporting them throughout their healthcare journey.
Duties:
- Provide high-quality, direct, comprehensive, holistic patient care in our wellness clinic.

Assess the physical condition of patients through the performance of physical examination, especially gynecologic exams, and obtaining a medical history.

Initiate health care treatment for health care management, therapeutic interventions, and prescribe medication.

Provide detailed information to patients regarding treatments, possible side effects, aftercare instructions, aftercare maintenance, or preventative care methods.

Use comprehensive knowledge to assess and promote the health maintenance of patients by diagnosing diseases, disorders, or conditions.
-
Provide counseling and manage contraception and family planning in collaboration with patients in relation to their health history.

Assess and provide gender affirming treatment for transgender or non-binary patients for the initiation of hormones and the first 12 months of maintenance and ongoing follow-up.

Offer perimenopausal care, menopausal care, and hormone replacement therapy for that patient population.

Provide postpartum care, including conducting follow-up exams and providing counseling on family planning and general health.

Perform minor medical procedures like LARC placements and removals.

Screen for STIs and provide treatments or referral for treatments for STIs.

Interpret diagnostic tests and lab results, and provide thorough communication and documentation with patients.

Provide follow-up hormone treatment on a case-by-case basis, post-operative assessment and care, and referrals to outside providers for surgery requests.

Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained, and HIPAA Guidelines are understood and followed.
Clinical Practice Team Duties:

Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care.

Participate in research and continuing education activities.
-
Present professional guidance to other health professionals and works autonomously with other interdisciplinary health care professionals.

Participate in planning, budgeting, and policy discussions related to the wellness program.

Participate in annual chart review with Medical Directors as required.

Serve as a preceptor for students, residents, fellows, and new advanced practice clinicians.
Administrative Duties:

Ensure complete and accurate documentation of patient information and treatments for patient charts and medical records.

Report to the state any communicable infections/diseases as required.

Work closely with administrative staff to get credentialed with insurance companies; records complete, timely and legible medical records to submit claims for services rendered.

Stay current with state, federal, and payer regulations/requirements for WHNP, CNM, or FNP practice in the state of Georgia.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Understanding of and commitment to reproductive health, rights, and justice issues.

Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nurse Practice with a specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Women’s Health or related healthcare field.

Licensure, Certification, and /or Registration: Registered Nurse, and/or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of Georgia.

A minimum of 2-4 years of experience working in a clinical setting, particularly in OB-GYN or Women’s Health

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Technology-savvy in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt as needed, self-manage, and prioritize between and manage multiple demands.

Strong communication and listening, including the ability to communicate verbally and in written form to multiple audiences.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with racial justice centering anti-blackness, intersectional analysis, TGNC, youth organizing, immigrant rights, disability justice, and/or LGBTQIA+ movements.

Experience providing Gender Affirming Care.

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Experience performing endometrial biopsy and coloscopy.

Experience using NextGen EMR system.
