Duties
- Greet guests warmly, present menus confidently, and assist with food and beverage selections to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems, ensuring all special requests are noted and communicated clearly to the kitchen
- Serve food and drinks efficiently, maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards throughout service
- Upsell menu items, beverages, or specials to maximize sales and guest satisfaction
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cashiering and processing payments via POS systems like OpenTable or other platforms
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, bussing as needed to uphold sanitation standards and ensure a welcoming environment
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation times, ensuring timely delivery of orders in a fast-paced setting
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and fostering positive guest relations in both fine dining and nightclub environments
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Strong culinary experience or background in food service environments with a focus on fine dining or nightlife venues
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Effective sales techniques including upselling and suggestive selling to enhance revenue opportunities
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Previous experience in restaurant settings such as serving, host/hostess roles, bussing, or food preparation is highly desirable
- Exceptional customer service skills with an emphasis on guest relations and hospitality excellence
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends in lively nightclub or restaurant atmospheres
