Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate GA PreK Teacher Lead to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant early childhood education environment. As the lead teacher for our Pre-K program, you will create a nurturing, engaging classroom that promotes early literacy, social-emotional development, and foundational skills essential for future academic success. Your leadership will ensure that curriculum development aligns with best practices in preschool education, including Montessori and other child-centered approaches. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational journey of preschoolers through innovative lesson planning, effective classroom management, and collaborative teamwork.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive, developmentally appropriate curricula that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and social skills tailored to preschool-aged children.
- Lead classroom activities that foster curiosity, creativity, and independence while maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Manage daily classroom routines, behavior management strategies, and child welfare protocols to support positive behavior and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with families to communicate student progress, discuss individualized plans for children requiring special education or early intervention services, and promote family engagement.
- Supervise and mentor teaching assistants and support staff to ensure high-quality instruction and consistent classroom management practices.
- Prepare documentation for standardized testing, progress reports, and lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Coordinate with specialists in early intervention or special education to support children with diverse learning needs or developmental delays.
Qualifications
- Must be GA State Certified Teacher Level 5 (minimum).
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, including classroom experience with toddlers or young learners.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with curriculum development methods such as Montessori or other child-centered educational philosophies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, staff, and community partners.
- Demonstrated ability in classroom management, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education alongside math and physical activities.
- Experience working in private schools or daycare environments is preferred; Montessori certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood education and tutoring techniques for foundational skills.
