Position Summary
Machine shop in Elyria, Ohio, is seeking CNC Operators to join our manufacturing team. This position primarily involves loading and unloading parts from CNC milling machines and lathes while monitoring machine operations to ensure quality production standards are met.
This is an entry-level to intermediate manufacturing position with opportunities for growth. Operators will be responsible for basic machine operation, quality inspections, tool changes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines and lathes using established production procedures.
- Load raw materials and unload finished parts from CNC machines.
- Monitor machine operation and report any production issues.
- Change cutters and tooling as required.
- Perform basic machine setup adjustments when directed.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Verify dimensions against blueprints and quality specifications.
- Maintain production and quality records.
- Identify and report defective parts or machine malfunctions.
- Assist with routine machine cleaning and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Basic understanding of precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn CNC operations.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in a manufacturing environment throughout the shift.
Preferred Experience
- Previous CNC machining experience preferred but not required.
- Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Experience using:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Gauges
- Other precision measuring tools
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must be felony-free for the past 7 years.
- Must successfully pass a drug screening.
- 5-Panel Drug Screen or In-House Drug Screen accepted.
- This is a non-THC-friendly workplace.
- High School Diploma or GED verification required.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
