Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize guest rooms, including beds, bathrooms, furniture, carpets, and fixtures using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and using proper protective gear.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy linens, furniture, or cleaning supplies with proper technique to prevent injury.
- Maintain floor care by vacuuming carpets, mopping hard surfaces, and ensuring all flooring is spotless and safe for guests.
- Restock amenities such as towels, toiletries, and minibar supplies to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures diligently to ensure safety in case of fire, medical emergencies or other incidents.
- Adhere to janitorial standards and industrial cleaning protocols to uphold hygiene and safety regulations across all areas.
Experience
- Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial work is highly preferred; familiarity with hospitality standards is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and industrial or janitorial cleaning equipment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of hotel housekeeping management practices helps in understanding the importance of guest privacy and service quality.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during linen changes or moving cleaning supplies.
- Understanding of hotel emergency procedures ensures quick response during critical situations.
