What the job looks like
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems
- Reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Running conduit and installing panels, transformers, disconnects, lighting, controls, and related equipment
- Troubleshooting systems and tracking down field issues
- Keeping all work in line with the NEC and local code
- Mentoring apprentices and helping bring up the next group of electricians
- Talking with customers professionally and representing CEC well
- Putting together estimates for small projects and service calls
- Handling work orders and job documentation through workorder systems
- Working safely and holding to CEC's standard for craftsmanship
What you need
- Current New Mexico EE98 Journeyman license
- Valid driver's license
- Solid working knowledge of the NEC
- Able to work independently or as part of a crew
- Strong troubleshooting instincts
- Good communication and customer service skills
Nice to have
- Experience across residential, commercial, and industrial work
- Oil and gas electrical experience
- Motor controls and VFDs
- Backup generators
- PLCs or industrial controls
- Solar or EV charging
- Experience leading crews or mentoring apprentices

Physical requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable on ladders and elevated platforms
- Able to work outdoors in all weather
- Able to work in confined spaces when the job calls for it
