Job Responsibilities
As a Furniture & Appliance Delivery Driver / Installer, you will be responsible for delivering merchandise to customers’ homes, apartments, and businesses in a safe, professional, and efficient way.
This is a physical, fast-paced delivery position. This is not only a helper job. The right candidate must be able to move heavy furniture and appliances using a dolly, appliance dolly, hand truck, straps, and basic moving equipment.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Deliver furniture, appliances, mattresses, sofas, dinettes, bedroom sets, electronics, and other merchandise to customers
- Safely move refrigerators, washers, dryers, bedroom sets, mattresses, sofas, dinettes, and other heavy items
- Use a dolly, appliance dolly, hand truck, straps, and moving equipment correctly
- Load and unload merchandise from the delivery truck
- Properly secure merchandise inside the truck to prevent damage during transportation
- Carry and move merchandise into houses, apartments, and upstairs units when needed
- Complete second-floor and third-floor deliveries when required
- Work with urgency while still protecting the merchandise and the customer’s home
- Complete assigned deliveries in a timely and professional manner
- Load the truck in an organized way based on the delivery route
- Plan each delivery before arrival, including tools, straps, dolly, and team coordination
- Avoid unnecessary delays during deliveries, pickups, and service calls
- Communicate with management if a delivery is taking longer than expected
- Follow the delivery route and update the store when each delivery is completed
- Use time wisely between deliveries and stay focused during delivery hours
- Assemble bedroom sets, beds, tables, chairs, and other furniture
- Install or connect basic merchandise when needed
- Inspect merchandise before delivery to make sure it is clean, complete, and in good condition
- Protect the customer’s home by being careful with walls, floors, doors, stairs, and furniture
- Communicate respectfully with customers in English and Spanish during deliveries, pickups, and service calls
- Take photos, collect signatures, and complete delivery paperwork or app updates
- Help with pickups, exchanges, service calls, and merchandise recovery when needed
- Help receive, organize, load, and move inventory in the warehouse or store
- Keep the delivery truck, warehouse, and delivery area clean and organized
- Report damages, missing parts, customer concerns, or delivery issues to management
- Work as part of the team, but be capable of handling delivery responsibilities without needing constant supervision
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, and move heavy merchandise
- Must be able to use a dolly for refrigerators, appliances, bedroom sets, and heavy furniture
- Must be able to handle stairs, apartments, tight spaces, and difficult delivery situations
- Must be comfortable with physical labor, heavy lifting, hot weather, and busy delivery days
- Must be able to stay on your feet for most of the workday
- Must be able to maintain a steady work pace during heavy deliveries
- Must be able to handle a full delivery day without constant supervision
Position Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
- Experience in furniture delivery, appliance delivery, moving, warehouse, maintenance, construction, or mechanic-helper work preferred
- Reliable, punctual, respectful, and responsible
- Strong work ethic and ability to work with urgency
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
