GCI's Specialist, Total Rewards will support the administration and delivery of Total Rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, and wellness initiatives. Ensures accurate program administration, regulatory compliance, and positive employee experience through responsive customer service, operational excellence, and effective program support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist with the company’s Total Rewards including preparing benefit and compensation information, assisting with new hire benefits orientation, and reviewing enrollment for eligibility and accuracy.
- Provide guidance and assistance to new and existing employees with the available Total Rewards package.
- Assist with preparation and execution of critical Total Rewards processes, including annual open enrollment, compensation increase cycles, and related program activities.
- Respond to Total Rewards inquiries and complaints received by email, voicemail, in person, or virtually, ensuring prompt, equitable, and courteous resolution.
- Maintain contact with vendors and employees in person, virtually, by phone, or by email to support effective utilization of the company’s Total Rewards programs.
- Work closely with Payroll and vendors to ensure Total Rewards submission data is accurate and complete.
- Work closely with Payroll and HRIS teams to maintain accurate Total Rewards premiums and earnings.
Assist with the company’s Wellness Program by maintaining accurate eligibility reporting and supporting internal communications.

Minimum Qualifications :
Serves as an experienced administrative professional responsible for independently coordinating Total Rewards programs and operational activities. Administers more complex transactions, supports compensation and benefits processes, prepares analytical reports, maintains confidential records, assists with program implementation, and serves as a primary resource for routine inquiries from employees, managers, HR Business Partners, and vendors.
REQUIRED :
- A combination of education and relevant work experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis.
Education* :
- High school diploma or equivalent; this requirement is met by candidates who hold an associate or bachelor’s degree.
Experience* :
- 2 years of experience independently performing administrative, HR, benefits, compensation, payroll, or operational support work with limited supervision.
Skills :
- Strong data accuracy, attention to detail, quality verification, and volume-handling skills.
- Ability to apply standard procedures, recognize exceptions, resolve routine problems, and escalate non-routine matters appropriately.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, HRIS, business systems, filing and organization tools, and standard office equipment.
- Ability to collaborate with teammates, share knowledge, and support department operations.
PREFERRED :
- 4 years of experience independently performing administrative, HR, benefits, compensation, payroll, or operational support work with limited supervision.
- Experience supporting Total Rewards program administration, employee inquiries, eligibility review, reporting, or vendor coordination.
Experience identifying process efficiencies or supporting quality assurance activities.

- Position is fast-paced and subject to rapidly changing priorities, multiple deadlines, and some challenging customer/vendor interactions.
- Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
- Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.

- Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary.
