Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for our chefs to create delicious dishes. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for the food industry, catering, and food safety who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Looking for 4 days a week. 8am-1pm. Days and hours may vary.
Responsibilities
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients according to recipes and specifications.
- Ensure all food items are prepared in accordance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service during meal times.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
- Adhere to dietary department guidelines when preparing meals for special dietary needs.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other food preparation tools.

Skills
- Proven experience in meal preparation within the food industry or catering environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Understanding of dietary requirements and the ability to follow specific culinary instructions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks.
