The Loc District is a luxury loc-focused salon dedicated to intentional care, consistency, and an elevated client experience. We specialize in healthy loc maintenance, starter locs, extensions, and advanced techniques, serving a growing and loyal clientele.
We are currently hiring motivated, professional, and coachable stylists who are interested in building a long-term career in locs and natural hair.
This opportunity is ideal for stylists seeking hands-on experience, structured growth, and increased earning potential through skill development and service mastery.
We are especially interested in candidates who already have experience performing retwists, styling locs, and installing starter locs, and who are able to maintain both service quality and efficient appointment timing.
What You’ll Be DoingClient Services
- Perform loc services including retwists, loc styling, starter loc installations, interlocking, treatments and other advanced techniques.
- Deliver a high-quality client experience from consultation through completion
- Maintain strong service quality while working efficiently and meeting salon timing expectations
- Demonstrate the ability to complete a standard retwist service within 2.5 hours or less while maintaining quality standards and client satisfaction
- Assist with advanced services such as instant locs, loc extensions, micro locs and repairs (training provided)
- Educate and guide clients on maintenance and healthy loc practices
Salon Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation at all times
- Support salon operations including laundry, tool sanitation, and maintaining shared spaces
- Assist with opening and closing responsibilities as assigned
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented salon culture
Brand & Service Standards
- Maintain consistency with salon standards, service timing, and client care expectations
- Represent The Loc District brand professionally in appearance, communication, and service delivery

Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience performing retwists, styling locs, and installing starter locs
- Ability to complete a standard retwist service in under 2.5 hours while maintaining quality and client satisfaction
- Experience or interest in braiding, colouring, and advanced loc styling techniques
- Experience supporting salon operations or front desk responsibilities
- Reception or hospitality experience is a plus
- Additional skills such as cutting or barbering are a plus
Compensation & Growth
- Hourly pay ranges from $19–$40 per hour depending on services performed and skill level
- Tips are paid in full to the stylist
- Structured pay increases based on skill development and service capabilities
