Job Title: Literacy Paraprofessional
Position Type: Full-Time; 1.0 FTE – 2026-2027 School Year
Pay Range: Starting at $17.50 per hour
Location: Lyceum (Elementary) Campus
Reports To: Literacy Department Lead
SUMMARY
A Literacy Paraprofessional is a non-exempt position. Literacy Paraprofessionals must exemplify high moral character and embrace the core virtues of the school. They operate as professionals within the guidelines established by the School Charter and the Board of Directors (BOD). This job description may not encompass all the duties listed below and may include other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Use research and evidence-based small group and individual literacy intervention to early elementary students requiring additional literacy support
● Assist students in building early literacy skills
● Have a strong commitment to student success while supporting the mission and vision of Loveland Classical Schools
● Conduct meaningful evaluation and maintain consistent progress monitoring for students
● Maintain accurate and organized documentation
● Employ instructional practices that elicit high levels of student engagement
● Effectively manage and direct up to 10 students in a small group setting
● Adhere to, and successfully administer, research evidence-based strategies, and evaluation methods as directed by the Literacy Interventionists
● Assess students progress through progress monitoring
● Enter progress monitoring data into a provided spreadsheet
● Get students from the classroom/Take students back to the classroom.
● Stay consistent with routines and classroom behavior management.
● Other duties as assigned
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
● Experience working with lower elementary age students
● An eagerness to gain understanding of Orton Gillingham and/or Lindamood Bell, Core Knowledge Language Arts Curriculum or previous experience within these programs
● Must be a self-starter and willing to take initiative
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
● High School Diploma or equivalent

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION
● This is an AT-WILL employment position. This means that the employee may be discharged for any reason or no reason at any time at the will of the school.
● This position will be non-exempt, meaning that the employee must be compensated for all hours worked over 40 hours per week, at the premium (time-and-one-half) rate of pay.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will have activities, such as recess duties, which take place outside in all seasons of weather.
