Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and safety protocols
- Conduct patient assessments by measuring vital signs and reviewing medical histories to ensure safe treatment plans
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support infection prevention measures through aseptic techniques, sterilization of dental instruments, and adherence to healthcare infection control standards
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures
- Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings preferred
- Proficiency with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care and patient assessment
- Skilled in dental equipment operation, X-ray techniques, and medical imaging procedures
- Excellent communication skills for client education, team collaboration, and patient care documentation
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance management, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively within a fast-paced environment
- Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise, including aseptic technique and infection management protocols
