About the Role: Chef de Cuisine
As Chef de Cuisine (CDC), you are a key leader in the heart of the kitchen—driving execution, coaching your team, and delivering excellent food with integrity and pride. This full-time salaried position oversees all back-of-house operations and plays a vital role in achieving culinary, financial, and developmental goals across departments.
You’ll work closely with your General Manager and Executive Chef while actively growing a positive, team-oriented culture. You’ll be empowered to lead, mentor, and innovate while ensuring excellence on the plate and behind the scenes.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation standards
- Represent the HOUSEpitality Family as a professional in demeanor, communication, and appearance
- Maintain consistent performance on COGs and labor goals
- Control inventory, ordering, and delivery accuracy (including FIFO rotation)
- Hire, train, certify, and develop back-of-house staff
- Oversee all food prep, line execution, and plate presentation
- Manage holiday, private, and promotional events with excellence
- Uphold and enforce our core values company-wide
- Continually seek self-improvement through feedback and coaching
- Edit and improve operational tools (checklists, line checks, etc.)
Desired Experience & Attributes
- 4+ years of progressive kitchen leadership experience
- Proven knowledge of all kitchen stations and systems
- Strong soft skills to motivate, coach, and foster a positive team culture
- Ability to work holidays and high-volume seasons
- Comfortable expediting, lifting 50 lbs., and being on your feet
- A passion for quality, efficiency, and hospitality
- ServSafe Manager Certified preferred (but not required)
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary plus access to up to $3,000 annually in bonuses, paid monthly upon Level 2 certification and active performance eligibility
- Additional performance-based management incentive program beyond Level 2
- Paid Time Off (PTO):
- PTO Begins accruing on your first day of employment, earning 80 hrs your first year
- PTO accrual rate increases with tenure, growing to 4 weeks annually by year 4

Career Path & Growth Opportunities
We believe in building careers—not just jobs. Our Chef de Cuisine Career Path offers clearly defined levels with compensation increases and promotional opportunities as you grow:
- Level 2 (6-week minimum): Certified CDCs are eligible to earn up to $3,000 annually in bonuses, paid out monthly during periods of active eligibility
- Level 3 (6-week minimum): 2.5% base salary increase
- Level 4 (6-week minimum): Additional 2.5% base salary increase
- Level 5 (6-week minimum): Eligible to interview for Executive Chef roles
