Responsibilities
- Provide attentive pet care, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and waste disposal
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and ensure their comfort during interactions
- Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and outdoor activities to promote physical activity and mental stimulation
- Support animal behavior assessments and help reinforce training or handling routines
- Perform kennel cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively with team members and pet owners regarding pet needs or special instructions
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, pet sitting, or kennel environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of animal handling, restraint techniques, and pet grooming practices
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely through team lifting methods and perform outdoor work comfortably in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with veterinary assistant or technician experience is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols related to animal care and sanitation standards
- Passion for animals with a proactive attitude toward their well-being and comfort
