Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager to join our retail team! Duties
- Assist the store manager in executing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Supervise and motivate sales associates to meet and exceed sales targets through effective team management
- Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to ensure product availability and presentation standards
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new employees
- Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling activities accurately
- Implement training and development programs to enhance team performance and product knowledge
- Utilize POS systems for sales transactions, pricing adjustments, and inventory tracking
- Coordinate purchasing decisions with vendors to optimize stock levels and pricing strategies
- Maintain operational standards including store cleanliness, safety protocols, and compliance with company policies
Skills
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent managerial communication skills
- Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic math skills for retail math calculations
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, and recruiting techniques
- Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable for diverse customer engagement
- Knowledge of payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and cash handling procedures
- Experience supervising retail sales teams with a focus on customer service excellence
- Ability to manage shift schedules, merchandising strategies, and promotional marketing efforts
- Effective time management skills coupled with strong organizational abilities
- Familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store operations is a plus but not required
