The Watertown Family YMCA is looking for individuals interested in working as Group Leads/Site Directors/Multisite Directors in our AM/PM School Aged Child Care (SACC) programs. We run before and afterschool care during the school year within the schools of the North Country. During the summer the program is run out of one site for an all day program with the kids.
SACC is held in many school districts in Jefferson County, and YMCA Facilities. Wage is based on experience and education. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of children, please apply for this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Group Leader
1. Supervises a group of children and program activities.
2. Follows all policies, procedures, and standards established by the law or the Y (e.g., safety or emergency procedures, behavior guidance strategies, child abuse prevention policies); makes ADA accommodations where appropriate; maintains the program site, equipment, and required program records.
3. Nurtures children through purposeful programming; plans activities that are intended to achieve program goals and outcomes, are culturally relevant, are developmentally appropriate, and are consistent with the Y’s values.
4. Creates a positive rapport and shared interest with all youth; models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
5. Provides opportunities for youth to lead, problem-solve, and make decisions and choices within the program and provides daily opportunities for youth to reflect on and respond to their experiences.
6. Provides and welcomes ongoing dialogue with parents and caregivers about their child’s needs and progress; connects families to the Y.
7. Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Site Supervisor/Site Director:
All the above duties plus:
1. On site supervision of staff as well as children.
2. Maintain regulatory compliance with OCFS
3. Primary Parental and Guardian communications
4. Weekly food pick up for super snacks from SACC offices
Multi-Site Director:
All the above duties plus:
1. Travel to four Jefferson County schools on a set schedule to supervise and mentor site teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Group Leader
· High school diploma or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
· Meets minimum age standards as established by state law and/or the Y.
· CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required (Will train with-in 90 days)
· Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire.
· Previous experience working with children preferred.
· Previous experience working with diverse populations.
· Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
· Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Site Supervisor/Site Director
All of the above qualifications plus:
·Associate’s Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field. Plus two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field.
OR
·School Age Child Care Credential or other office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period. Plus two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field.
OR
·2 years of college with 18 credit hours in child development, elementary education, or related field. Plus two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field.
