Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Invoicing Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the entire invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in billing operations for our natural gas compression business. Duties
- Prepare, review, and send accurate invoices using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Open Ticket/Open Invoice, ISS, Vendor Portal and others to ensure timely billing cycles.
- Reconcile accounts receivable records by analyzing payment discrepancies and resolving billing issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of all invoicing transactions, including journal entries and account analysis, adhering to GAAP and SOX compliance standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to resolve billing disputes through negotiation and effective communication.
- Perform account reconciliation tasks regularly to verify the accuracy of financial data and support audit readiness.
- Process payments, update customer accounts, and follow up on overdue invoices to optimize revenue cycle management.
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on invoicing or accounts receivable management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with Quicken is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to revenue cycle management, account reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping.
- Ability to handle high-volume data entry accurately using 10 key typing skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analysis skills for account analysis and discrepancy resolution; strong problem-solving abilities are essential.
- Effective communication skills with phone etiquette experience for customer service interactions and negotiations.
- Knowledge of medical billing procedures including CPT coding, ICD-10 standards, and medical terminology is advantageous.
- Experience working within public accounting or governmental accounting environments is preferred but not required.
