Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items according to recipes.
- Support the culinary team by preparing ingredients for meal service, including slicing, dicing, and measuring.
- Maintain proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations.
- Help with kitchen organization by stocking supplies, rotating stock items, and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Support meal service by setting up stations, assisting servers when needed, and ensuring timely delivery of prepared dishes.
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, knife skills, and kitchen equipment operation to prevent accidents.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurant, catering, or dietary department is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and bending frequently.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail-oriented work ethic.
- Familiarity with kitchen tools such as knives and cooking utensils is a plus.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in dietary aide work or menu planning is advantageous but not mandatory.
