Part-Time (Approximately 2-3 days per week, 15-25 hours)
The Lead Studio Instructor is a key position at Miss Fit Academy, combining dance instruction, instructor leadership, studio operations, and customer experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys equal parts teaching, mentoring, organizing, and ensuring every guest has an unforgettable experience.
As the on-site leader during your shifts, you'll help keep the studio operating efficiently while maintaining the high standards Miss Fit Academy is known for. You'll oversee instructor coordination, support daily operations, and ensure classes and group lessons run smoothly from start to finish.
Beyond teaching, you'll serve as the primary resource for our instructor team - helping maintain consistent teaching quality, supporting instructor development, ensuring adequate staffing, and fostering a positive, professional culture. You'll also play an important role in preparing clients before they arrive, resolving day-of challenges, and creating an energetic, welcoming atmosphere that leaves guests excited to return.
We're looking for someone who is highly organized, confident, dependable, and passionate about both dance and leadership. The ideal candidate thrives in a variable environment, takes initiative, communicates exceptionally well, and enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with being in front of a class.
Primary Responsibilities
Build strong relationships with instructors while promoting a supportive, professional team culture.
Ensure all group lessons are appropriately staffed by assigning instructors and proactively recruiting qualified talent when coverage gaps arise.
Monitor teaching quality, curriculum consistency, choreography, professionalism, and safety standards.
Organize instructor onboarding, training, documentation, and ongoing development.
Maintain and update class curricula as programs evolve.
Help cultivate a positive, motivating, and inclusive learning environment for both instructors and students.
Open, prepare, and close the studio while ensuring facilities and equipment are ready for daily operations.
Welcome guests, answer phones and emails, check clients in, and provide outstanding customer service.
Prepare clients for their lessons by ensuring they receive all necessary information prior to arrival.
Keep classes, instructors, and events running on schedule throughout the day.
Manage reservations, process payments, and assist customers with retail purchases.
Maintain accurate customer records and communicate with prospective and existing clients as needed.
Perform light cleaning, studio organization, and general facility upkeep.
Assist with capturing photos and videos for social media and marketing.
Contribute creative ideas for retail merchandise, apparel, and studio promotions.
Confidently teach multiple dance styles or demonstrate a willingness to expand your teaching repertoire.
Create a fun, encouraging, and inclusive environment where every participant feels welcomed and successful.
Required Qualifications
Dance teaching experience with the ability and desire to learn additional styles.
Familiarity with Nashville's dance community.
Strong leadership, organization, and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Comfortable making independent decisions with minimal supervision.
Ability to confidently manage multiple groups, instructors, and priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency with iPhone, Windows, Microsoft Office, Gmail, typing and general computer applications.
Strong grammar, spelling, and professional communication skills.
Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
Comfortable working 1 evening each week, and in varying temperatures.
Currently live in Nashville and plan on being here at least 1-2 years
Schedule
Approximately 15 - 25 hours per week (about 2-3 days).
Must be available for at least one evening shift each week.
Additional availability may be required during showcases, special events, and busy weekends.
