Duties
- Support classroom activities by supervising children during play, learning, meal times, and rest periods to ensure safety and engagement.
- Assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum plans focused on childhood development and early learning milestones.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment by following health and safety protocols, including proper sanitation practices.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding daily activities, progress, and any concerns about their child's well-being.
- Support children with diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene routines in accordance with childcare standards.
- Participate in training sessions on first aid, CPR, mandated reporting laws, and special education to enhance caregiving skills.
- Collaborate with team members to manage behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and classroom management strategies.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar caregiving roles is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of child development instruction, childhood development principles, and early childhood education practices.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or obtainable upon hire.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and teamwork within a childcare setting.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a nurturing environment.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and protection.
