Location: Eden Prairie, MN (with occasional travel to Richfield, Bloomington, Burnsville, and Roseville)
Schedule: Every Other Weekend (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM)

At Midwest Residential, we provide compassionate, person-centered care across our assisted living and community-based service programs. We're seeking two experienced Registered Nurses to share weekend on-call responsibilities, providing clinical leadership and support to our residents and care teams.
This position is ideal for an RN looking to supplement their income while maintaining flexibility and autonomy. You'll work every other weekend, serving as the primary clinical resource for our assisted living (144G) and 245D programs.
Position Summary
The Weekend On-Call RN provides telephone triage, clinical decision-making, and hands-on nursing support from 5:00 p.m. Friday through 8:00 a.m. Monday every other weekend. While much of the role is on-call, some in-person nursing visits are expected each weekend based on resident needs. You'll have the flexibility to organize your on-site time while ensuring timely clinical support is available.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-call RN during assigned weekends.
- Respond to clinical questions from caregivers, managers, and leadership.
- Assess residents experiencing changes in condition and determine appropriate interventions.
- Complete admissions, nursing assessments, and other required clinical evaluations.
- Provide skilled nursing care including wound care, catheter management, injections, medication-related assessments, and other nursing services.
- Evaluate residents for higher levels of care and coordinate emergency transfers when appropriate.
- Review and authorize PRN medication administration within nursing scope of practice and company protocols.
- Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, hospice agencies, home health providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Provide coaching, education, and clinical guidance to direct care staff.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with Minnesota 144G Assisted Living and 245D regulations.
- Support quality care and regulatory compliance across assigned communities.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota.
- Two or more years of nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in assisted living, long-term care, home health, hospice, or community-based services is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable working independently while serving as the primary clinical resource during assigned weekends.
- Experience with resident assessments, admissions, wound care, medication management, catheter care, clinical triage, emergency response, and PRN medication evaluation is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Schedule
This position provides every other weekend on-call coverage from:
- Friday: 5:00 p.m.
- Monday: 8:00 a.m.
The primary work location is Eden Oak Assisted Living in Eden Prairie, with occasional travel to communities in Richfield, Bloomington, Burnsville, and Roseville as resident needs require.
