Butterfly Bakery of Vermont is looking for a Baker & Specialty Foods Maker to join our small but mighty production team. This role’s primary focus is baking - granola, cookies, and bars - all made with pure Vermont maple syrup. But depending on seasonality you’ll also spend part of each week making Fat Toad Farm goat’s milk caramel and our award-winning farm-to-fork hot sauces (that have been featured on Hot Ones 4 times!).
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in precision, consistency, and attention to detail. Our products rely on accuracy, from properly mixed cookie dough to carefully monitored caramel to hot sauce batches that taste as good as the peppers that our farmers grew.
What You’ll Do
Baking
- Prepare, bake and package cookies, bars, and granola
- Follow recipes and record batch notes
- Maintain clean, organized, food-safe spaces
Specialty Foods Production
- Cook traditional goat’s milk caramel with our caramel team
- Make small-batch hot sauces and mustards with our hot sauce crew
- Assist with bottling, jarring, labeling, and packing
General Production
- Rotate duties based on seasonal needs
- Use production equipment safely
- Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in baking, culinary work, or food production (we’ll train you in the specifics)
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- Solid communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn multiple production areas
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, weekdays
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience

- The amount of time spent in each task will vary seasonally. During the holiday production season you would be in baking 80% - 100% of the time. During the slowest time of year (January - April) it would be closer to 40%.
