Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Location: Omaha, NE
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Full-Time | Direct Hire | Overtime Available | No Weekends
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a fleet of CAT and other heavy equipment, including excavators, grinders, wheel loaders, and skid loaders.
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, complete day-to-day repairs, and help keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Repair oil leaks, hoses, bearings, sensors, switches, and other components.
- Perform arc, MIG, TIG, and aluminum welding as needed.
- Source repair parts and maintain service records.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, or related field OR 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Welding experience required.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
