Duties
- Support classroom teachers by preparing instructional materials, setting up learning activities, and organizing classroom resources to facilitate smooth daily operations.
- Assist with lesson implementation across subjects such as literacy education, math, and curriculum development, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible for all students.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse needs, including those with special education requirements or disabilities such as autism or other developmental challenges.
- Promote positive behavior management strategies to maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment, encouraging good conduct and social skills.
- Help supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch periods, and transitions to ensure safety and promote healthy interactions.
- Support early childhood education initiatives by engaging children in age-appropriate activities that foster childhood development, preschool readiness, and toddler care.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and specialists to monitor student progress and address individual needs promptly.
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management techniques.
- Experience working with children in classroom settings, daycare centers, or private schools; familiarity with Montessori or preschool methodologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of special education strategies and working with individuals with autism or other disabilities to support inclusive learning environments.
- Ability to assist with lesson planning for literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum development tailored to diverse learners.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and support staff.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills to foster a positive learning atmosphere while ensuring safety.
- Compassionate approach to working with children of various ages including toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary students; experience in childcare or daycare settings is advantageous.
