As a Deployment Engineer at Torchlight Analytics, you will own the end-to-end technical implementation of Torchlight’s behavioral intelligence platform for government and enterprise customers. You will lead deployments from initial discovery through configuration, integration, data onboarding, validation, and operational handoff, while also guiding junior team members and continuously improving our delivery practices. You will serve as a trusted technical partner to customers, ensuring the platform is correctly tailored to their mission requirements and delivers measurable value quickly.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical deployment of the Torchlight platform for new and existing customers, including environment setup, data source integration, configuration of behavioral models, and system validation.
- Conduct technical discovery sessions with customers to understand their operational environment, data sources, security requirements, and mission objectives.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact during implementation, translating customer needs into platform configurations and advising on best practices.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior deployment and operations team members, reviewing their work and helping them develop stronger implementation skills.
- Collaborate closely with Threat Intelligence Specialists, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless delivery and rapid issue resolution.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, deployment playbooks, and knowledge base articles to improve team efficiency and consistency.
- Identify opportunities to streamline deployment processes, reduce time-to-value, and improve the overall customer experience.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to data ingestion, platform performance, integrations, and customer environments.
- Support post-deployment optimization and expansion opportunities by identifying additional data sources, use cases, and configuration improvements.
- Travel as required (domestic and occasional international) to support on-site deployments and customer engagements (up to 25%).
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, or integrating SaaS, data analytics, or intelligence platforms in customer environments.
- Strong technical aptitude with experience in one or more of the following: data integration, APIs, cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), networking fundamentals, or geospatial/telemetry data.
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role (Implementation, Deployment, Solutions Engineering, or Professional Services).
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams and guide less experienced team members without formal management authority.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable operating independently while coordinating across multiple internal teams and customers.
- Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies, platforms, and domain concepts.
- Experience with tools commonly used in intelligence and analytics environments is highly valued, including:
- Geospatial or mapping tools (e.g., ArcGIS or similar)
- Data visualization / BI tools
- API-based integrations and data pipelines
- Cloud infrastructure and SaaS administration
- Collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Slack, etc.)
Preferred
- Background in cyber threat intelligence, OSINT, geospatial intelligence, former DNEA / TDNA experience, or related national security / defense domains.
- Experience supporting government or defense customers.
- Familiarity with commercial telemetry, device, network, or behavioral data sources.
Clearance Requirement
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, therefore US citizenship is required.
