Duties
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations to determine patient needs and develop tailored care plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies for patients experiencing acute mental health or behavioral crises.
- Coordinate care with healthcare providers, community resources, and family members to ensure holistic patient support.
- Document clinical encounters accurately in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR), ensuring compliance with HIPAA and medical documentation standards.
- Collect data for clinical research studies focused on behavioral health outcomes, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities.
- Manage case loads involving individuals with complex conditions such as PTSD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Alzheimer's disease, or other disabilities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program with valid licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or geriatrics in home or community settings.
- Strong knowledge of mental health interventions including psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, crisis management, and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR systems (Electronic Medical Records) and medical terminology; ability to maintain detailed clinical documentation adhering to confidentiality policies such as HIPAA.
- Experience working with diverse populations from various cultural backgrounds; sensitivity to individual differences.
- Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and develop effective treatment plans aligned with clinical standards.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for diagnostic evaluation purposes; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and documentation clarity.
