JOB SUMMARY
The Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs on vending equipment, with a primary focus on ice machines and coffee brewers. This position helps ensure equipment reliability, sanitation, and optimal performance while reducing service calls and extending equipment life. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to providing outstanding customer service.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial ice machines, bean-to-cup coffee brewers, drip coffee systems, and other beverage equipment.
- Clean and sanitize ice machines according to manufacturer specifications and food safety standards.
- Replace filters, water lines, seals, gaskets, and other routine wear items.
- Inspect equipment for proper operation and identify potential issues before they become service calls.
- Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs during preventive maintenance visits.
- Maintain accurate service records using a mobile device or service management software.
- Manage preventive maintenance schedules to ensure all assigned equipment is serviced on time.
- Maintain an organized inventory of parts, filters, and cleaning supplies in the service vehicle.
- Communicate equipment concerns and recommended repairs to the Service Manager.
- Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained in a clean and professional manner.
- Follow all company safety policies, sanitation procedures, and customer site requirements.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service during every service visit.
- Assist Service Technicians with equipment installations or repairs as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Occasionally move equipment weighing over 100 pounds using proper equipment.
- Bend, kneel, squat, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
Work in customer facilities, warehouses, and office environments
