Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, carpets, windows, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Conduct routine custodial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold high standards of hygiene
- Carry out specialized floor care procedures including buffing, stripping, sealing, and waxing to maintain flooring in optimal condition
- Assist with industrial cleaning projects that may involve heavy-duty equipment or hazardous materials following safety protocols
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs needed for lighting, plumbing, or structural issues to ensure a safe environment
- Provide porter services such as moving furniture or equipment within the facility as needed for events or maintenance
- Maintain detailed logs of cleaning activities and supply inventories to ensure efficient operations
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred
- Familiarity with various cleaning techniques including floor care such as buffing and sealing is advantageous
- Experience with residential painting or general facilities maintenance adds value to your skill set
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning procedures and safety standards is beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to operate cleaning machinery like buffers, extractors, or pressure washers is desirable
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high-quality standards
