Olympic Yard Works LLC (Independence, MO) is building a bench of independent tree crews for steady, pre-sold removal and trim work across the KC metro — Missouri and Kansas sides.
Full-service crews get first call: removal through cleanup, one crew, whole job. Cleanup-and-haul crews without a climber are still welcome — we pair crews and route straight cleanup work too.
You get a text: photos, scope, and the price. Yes or pass — no explanation needed either way. We handle the customer, the estimate, the contract, the deposit, the collections, the complaint calls, and the liability paperwork. No sales, no phone duty, no marketing spend, no chasing checks.
WHAT WE PAY
Most removals pay $650–$2,500 per job, cleanup and haul-off included in the price. Large or technical removals have paid up to $4,500. Cleanup-only and hauling jobs pay $300–$800. You see the number before you accept — never after. Paid Net 7 from your completion photos.
THE WORK
Technical removals — tight drop zones, structures, rigging. Storm damage and emergency response. Trimming, canopy work, deadwooding. Debris clearing, chipping, haul-off, lot resets.
ONE RULE THAT PROTECTS US BOTH
You walk the site before you sign the work order, and the price is firm once you do. Genuinely concealed conditions — internal rot nobody could see, a buried line — get a change order. “Bigger than I thought” does not. Not enough money? Say so before you sign and we’ll renegotiate or pull it. What kills us both is a job started and abandoned.
MUST HAVE — NO EXCEPTIONS
- General Liability $1M/$2M with tree/arborist operations actually covered — check your policy for a tree work exclusion; a lot of landscaping policies have one. Olympic Yard Works LLC named Additional Insured, primary and non-contributory.
- Real Workers’ Compensation covering every person on the crew, including you. No sole-proprietor waivers on this work — if you’re truly solo, a minimum-premium policy runs a few hundred a year.
- Your own equipment — we supply zero. If a job needs something specialized, we tell you up front and price the job so you can rent it.
- A legal, permitted place to dump
- Removal crews: a registered LLC or corporation in good standing (MO or KS). Cleanup-only crews: any registered business with an EIN on the W-9.
- Signed Master Subcontractor Agreement plus a Work Order per job
STRONG PLUSES
ISA Certified Arborist or Tree Worker/Climber Specialist. Bucket truck or spider lift. Chipper, dump trailer or truck, skid steer or loader. Crane experience. Commercial references.
WHAT WE EXPECT
You control your methods, crew, and schedule — we don’t tell you how to take a tree down. We specify the finished result: done inside the window, debris gone, drop zone raked, property cleaner than the homeowner expects, completion photos, professional conduct — these are our accounts and our reputation. Miss windows, cause callbacks, or draw complaints and you move down our call list. Perform and you move up — top crews get first call on the biggest work before anyone else knows it exists.
THE LEGAL PART, STRAIGHT
This is a 1099 business-to-business subcontract opportunity. It is not employment. You are an independent business. You set your own methods, hours, and crew, and you may accept or decline any job with no obligation. No employment relationship is created or implied. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and compliance with applicable Missouri and Kansas law.
TO APPLY
Business name and years operating, crew size and roles, equipment list, certifications, 2–3 photos of completed jobs — technical removals preferred — and metro coverage. Qualified crews get a paid trial job.
Pay: $650.00 - $4,500.00 per day
