American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical ICU (MSICU) position in Plano, TX, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

13-week contract
-
Critical Care Unit with 36 CCU beds and 30 Burn Trauma ICU beds
-
Patient ratio of 2:1
-
Unit is staffed with a supervisor on every shift and PCTs
-
Procedures performed include central line insertions, arterial line insertions, thoracotomies, bedside tracheostomies, and chest tube insertions
-
Documentation system: Meditech (experience preferred)

Every other weekend required
-
Floating to other units as needed
-
Active TX or compact RN license required; temporary licenses will not be accepted

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for ICU RNs

Minimum 2 years of hospital and ICU specialty experience required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required

No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Meditech EMR experience is preferred; TNCC, CCRN, and TCRN certifications are also preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered

Dress code includes no artificial, gel, or next-gen nails; hair must be neat with no extreme styles or colors and pulled back if shoulder-length or longer; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited; tattoos should be covered whenever possible
