The Plumbing Construction Technician is responsible for the installation of plumbing systems in new construction projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role involves interpreting blueprints, installing piping and fixtures, ensuring compliance with plumbing codes, and collaborating with construction teams to meet project deadlines. A valid Journeyman Plumbing License is required to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The Plumbing Construction Technician reports directly to the Plumbing Project Manager and works as part of a team to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget. diverse projects.
Responsibilities :
Plumbing Installation
- Install plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and venting systems, according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Set and install plumbing fixtures, including sinks, faucets, water heaters, and toilets, as per the construction schedule.
- Assemble, connect, and test piping systems to ensure proper functionality and adherence to design requirements.
Blueprint and Code Compliance
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute plumbing installations accurately.
- Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and federal plumbing codes and pass required inspections.
- Work with inspectors to address code-related issues and secure timely approvals.
Collaboration with Construction Teams
- Coordinate with general contractors, architects, and other trades to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and the Plumbing Project Manager to resolve scheduling conflicts or other challenges.
- Adapt to changes in project scope or requirements as directed by the Plumbing Project Manager.
Quality Control and Testing
- Perform pressure tests and other inspections to ensure the integrity and functionality of installed plumbing systems.
- Identify and resolve installation errors or leaks before project handover.
- Document completed installations and testing outcomes for project records.
Safety and Equipment Maintenance
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and site-specific safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Regularly inspect and maintain tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Report damaged or faulty equipment and coordinate with the Plumbing Project Manager for replacements or repairs.
