Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks, commercial trucks, or personal vehicles to transport items between locations.
- Load and unload goods using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Assist with moving furniture and equipment, ensuring proper lifting practices to prevent injury.
- Follow route driving plans while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients during deliveries or moves.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and inventory using mobile devices or other tracking tools.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during loading, transportation, and unloading processes.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience or experience in moving or delivery driving preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or courier services is a plus.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with route driving, adhering to traffic laws, and DOT regulations.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items regularly and perform manual handling tasks safely.
