PRODA · PROTEIN SODA
Director of Integrated Marketing
Lead the integrated marketing strategy behind one of America's fastest-growing beverage brands. Shape the campaigns, orchestrate every channel, and help take Proda from breakout brand to household name. Turn a major moment and five channels into one sequenced plan.
Who We Are
PRODA is protein soda — ten grams of protein, zero sugar, and it tastes like the soda you grew up with. We launched at Sprouts in March 2026 and became the fastest-turning protein soda in the country inside of five months. Several of the fastest-selling protein sodas in the country are ours.
We are small on purpose. A handful of operators, a set of specialist partners, and two founders who are close to the work. We have significant news to announce in Q4, and 2027 is the year we go national — new retailers, a bigger Amazon push, and a brand that has to show up properly everywhere people meet it.
This role reports to co-founder Matt Postlethwaite and works alongside our VP of Brand Activation.
Position Summary
PRODA’s constraint is not opportunity — it is sequencing. We have more good options than we can execute in order: a major announcement landing in Q4, a TikTok Shop launch, an Amazon rebuild, an influencer engine, and a velocity story to protect at Sprouts. Each has a capable owner. What we do not have is one person deciding what happens when, and what it is worth.
That is this job. You own the marketing calendar, the campaign plan behind our biggest moments, and the recommendation on where the money goes. You will spend your first ninety days turning our Q4 announcement into a real plan — message, phases, channel roles, budget, owners — and then keeping the flywheel turning after the news cycle ends.
You direct the work; you do not produce it. We have a designer, a content producer, a community agency, an Amazon and e-commerce lead, and a TikTok agency. Your job is to brief them well, hold a standard, and tell us honestly what is working.
What You Will Own
- The integrated marketing calendar: One calendar across content, creators, e-commerce, and work with the retail and PR lead. The rhythm everyone else runs to.
- The Q4 launch: Build the announcement plan and the content that follows it. Organic social, creators, Amazon and TikTok Shop so one moment does the work of ten.
- Email acquisition: Stand up the funnel before the Q4 volume arrives — comment and DM capture off social, link routing, list building — then activate it. We have no meaningful list today and one narrow window to build one.
- Content and campaign planning: Set the themes, campaigns and monthly plan. Brief our designer, producer and community partner against it. Matt holds the final creative call; you hold the plan.
- Budget recommendations: Bring a point of view on what gets funded, what waits and what stops. The founders approve. Someone has to make the case.
- Agency and partner direction: Keep Uptickk (TikTok Shop) and our Amazon partners pointed at the same objectives, and judge the output.
- Performance and cadence: Contribute to weekly marketing meeting: priorities, results, blockers, decisions. Tell us what the numbers mean, not just what they are.
Not in scope: Amazon campaign operations, retail account ownership, digtial shopper/retail shopper, PR Management, day-to-day community management, demo and field execution, and production. Those have owners.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 7+ years in integrated marketing, brand or content at a CPG or high-growth consumer brand. Beverage or better-for-you is a plus, and early-stage experience matters more than big-company pedigree.
- Range: You have built the plan and also executed it. Comfortable moving between a budget conversation with a founder and a creative brief in the same afternoon.
- Judgment on spend: You can look at a channel and say whether it is worth the money, and show your work. We would rather hear a clear no than a hedged maybe.
- A moment under your belt: You have taken a launch, a partnership or a campaign and turned it into a sequenced plan across several channels — with owners, dates and a number attached.
- Channel literacy without hands-on operation: You know what Meta, TikTok Shop, Amazon advertising, creator platforms and retail media are for, how to brief them, and how to read the results. You do not need to build the campaigns yourself.
- Partner leadership: You get good work out of agencies and freelancers by being clear, not by being loud. Comfortable running lean with no direct reports.
- Writing and taste: You can turn a strategy into a brief someone else can execute, and you know when the work is not good enough yet.
