HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST II.

Position Overview:
The Human Resource Specialist I provides excellent service to all SAO employees and members of the public. This position supports a wide range of HR functions, including timekeeping and leave management, onboarding, benefit information and employee records management. This is a full-time position with a work schedule between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.
The Job Responsibilities include:
Provide guidance and support to staff for all employment and benefit matters
Coordinate recruiting initiatives
Assist with processing applications, interviews, and onboarding tasks including scheduling drug testing and fingerprinting
Prepare materials, plans and conduct onboarding orientation for new hires
Reviewing and processing weekly leave requests and monthly time sheet submissions as well as managing and processing leaves of absence
Processing all assigned payroll transactions
Complete telephonic and written employment verification for current and past employees
Drafting and preparing correspondence
Maintaining and updating necessary databases and records
Performing other duties as assigned
The successful candidate must be able to:
Maintain confidential information with the highest degree of professional responsibility
Understand and apply SAO Office Policies and Procedures as well as basic principles of employment law
Be detailed orientated and organized
Work independently and be supportive in a team environment
Utilize problem solving techniques
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Minimum requirements:
High School Diploma or its equivalent
Two (2) years prior experience working in a Human Resources Department or equivalent combination of training and experience
Working knowledge of personnel processes
Salary & Benefits
Starting annual salary is $43,000.00. This position includes a comprehensive area deferential (CAD) and robust benefits package:

Physical Demands:
This position requires normal pushing, lifting and moving of boxes and files up to 25 lbs.
