Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the assembly of menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Execute food preparation tasks efficiently, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Support the kitchen team during service by ensuring timely delivery of dishes while maintaining quality and presentation
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all ingredients and equipment
- Assist with menu planning ideas by providing feedback on ingredient quality and preparation methods
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment throughout shifts
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and uphold a positive work environment
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service setting, particularly in a restaurant or fine dining environment
- Familiarity with food industry standards for safety, handling, and sanitation practices
- Culinary experience including knife skills, food preparation techniques, and meal assembly
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Experience with catering or large-scale food service operations is beneficial
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
